Fees and Funding

9:15-12:15 Morning session

12:15-13:15 Lunch club

13:15-15:15 Afternoon session

Sessions are charged at £6.00 per hour (from January 2025)

Flexible sessions

The preschool day is divided into three sessions each day so that children (especially younger ones) can come for part of the day. Parents can increase the number of sessions their child attends as they become more settled at the Preschool.

The flexibility of starting with just mornings for my little boy is one of the things that attracted me to Hickling Preschool as he wasn’t quite ready to give up afternoon naps when he first started.” A parent’s view.

Wrap around Care

To help working parents, wrap around childcare can be accessed from 7.30am – 6pm each day by using Rattle and Roll Breakfast and After School club at Kinoulton Primary School, from Age 3. Parents currently need to arrange their own transport for children between Wraparound Care and preschool.

Government funding

From the age of 2, your child may qualify for Government funding (15-30 hrs) towards the cost of childcare, which can be used in part or full payment of your monthly bill. This applies until they reach compulsory school age (the term following their fifth birthday).

We also accept childcare vouchers and the government’s tax-free childcare scheme – please talk to a member of staff for more information.
